ABOUT ME

I’m River Branson, a queer trans man and freelance video producer and editor from Southern California and based in Los Angeles.

I’ve always been drawn to storytelling — growing up, I made mini-documentaries and animated videos which set me on the path to filmmaking.

I honed my skills at the University of Southern California where I earned a B.A. in Video Production, with a focus on directing on producing.

After college, I started working at BuzzFeed, which became a second film school for me, teaching me what resonates on social media. I specialized in queer content, producing videos about my own experiences and amplifying the voices of underrepresented queer communities, particularly in the South.

Since then, I’ve worked with various companies, expanding my skills in editing, branded content, and marketing. My freelance work has included projects for Refinery 29, the Biden Presidential Campaign, Blip, Tommy Hilfiger, Overdrive and other brands.

Beyond commercial work, I remain committed to queer storytelling through my work with Camp Lost Boys, a nonprofit camp for trans men.
