ABOUT ME
I’m River Branson, a queer trans man and freelance video producer/editor from Southern California and based in Los Angeles.
I’ve always been drawn to storytelling — growing up, I made animated videos and documentaries about my friends.
I honed my skills at the University of Southern California where I earned a B.A. in Video Production, with a focus on directing and producing.
After college, I started working at BuzzFeed, which became a second film school for me, teaching me what resonates on social media. I specialized in identity-based content, producing videos about my own experiences and amplifying the voices of underrepresented voices in the south.
Since then, I’ve worked with various companies, expanding my skills in branded content and marketing. My freelance work has included projects for Tommy Hilfiger, Refinery 29, the Biden Presidential Campaign, FOLX Health, Blip, Overdrive and more.
Beyond commercial work, I remain committed to queer storytelling through my work with Camp Lost Boys, a nonprofit camp for trans men.
